Christmas basically celebrates the birth of Jesus Christ

Christmas is an annually celebrated Christian holiday which marks the birth of Jesus Christ. The 25th day of month December was then chosen for marking his birthday by the Roman Catholic Church years following his death.

Christmas trees were used firstly by ancient Egyptians and Romans

The origin or the use of trees of Christmas comes way back from ancient Egyptians and Romans. They used evergreen trees such as like fir or pine trees, wreaths, and garlands. And also the use of modern Christmas trees got started in Germany in the 16th century.

The term ‘Xmas’ basically means Christmas

The use of such term ‘Xmas’ also dates back in the 16th century. The ‘X’ in this word Xmas is originated from the ancient Greek language. In Greek, the Christ begins with the letter X. So, Xmas basically means Christmas.

Santa Claus was also referred as Sinterklaas in the Dutch

For little children, Christmas festival is always about receiving exciting gifts from Santa Claus. But how did this Santa Claus come into existence? The character of red Santa Claus is based out of St. Nicholas. According to a legend, St. Nicholas was a Christian bishop who loved the children and provided stuffs to the poor and needy.
