Committee Formed To Tackle Mathematics Phobia

Human Resource Development Ministry has formed a committee under the supervision of Bhupendrasinh Chudasama, Education Minister, Gujarat, to suggest ways to reduce the fear of maths among students and make subjects easy. HRD Minister Prakash Javadekar made the announcement regarding the same on 11 April 2018 at the Annual Meeting of NCERT.
With the recent class 10 maths paper leak, plans for a re-examination and the volley of grievances from students fretting to rewrite the maths exam is the cause of trigger for such a move.
'One thing has come up in the National Assessment Survey 2017 that students have fear complex about maths. We have formed a committee under Gujarat Education Minister Bhupendrasinh Chudasama to see how to remove that fear complex so that the students see it as a friendly subject,' HRD Minister Prakash Javadekar.
