Coronavirus: UP Students to Be Promoted without Exams Till Class 8

In Uttar Pradesh, students of classes one to eight of all government primary schools will get promoted. They do not have to appear in examinations because of the coronavirus pandemic, an official said on 18th March 2020.
All students of government primary schools in Uttar Pradesh of classes one to eight will get promoted without having to appear in examinations because of the coronavirus outbreak, an official said on the 18th of March.
Between March 23 and 28, examinations in primary schools were scheduled.
Additional Chief Secretary, Education Renuka Kumar said an order issued on the 17th of March, night orders had been issued to promote all students, studying in schools run by the basic education department, of class one to eight to next classes without examination. All schools have been closed till April 2 earlier but now the whole country is locked down till 15th April.
On the 17th of March, the state government extended the closure of all educational institutions, multiplexes, cinemas, and tourist places in the state till April 2 and implemented a work-from-home procedure to the extent possible to contain the coronavirus spread.
Furthermore, the Central Board of Secondary Education has announced on the 19th of March, examinations are to be postponed until 31st March. Fresh dates for the examinations were earlier decided to be announced on 31st March.
ICSE Board had postponed their 10th and 12th classes’ examinations. The exams have been postponed said by the Council for the Indian School Certificate Examinations (CISCE) Chief Executive Gerry Arathoon.
In Noida, Uttar Pradesh, section-144 has been imposed due to the deadly COVID-19. Up till now, there have been many positive cases of coronavirus in the U.P.
All over India, the number of positive cases has crossed 600 and the death toll is 13.
