COVID-19 Pandemic: BCCI Suspends All Domestic Cricket Matches Till Further Notice

On the 14th of March, all domestic tournaments until further notice as a precautionary measure due to the rising concerns about the COVID-19 outbreak were suspended by the Board of Control for Cricket in India. 

From March 18th-22nd at Rajkot, the 2019-20 Irani Trophy matches, to be played between the newly-crowned Ranji Trophy champions Saurashtra and the Rest of India team, was scheduled. This fixture will also go ahead as scheduled as the Indian cricket board suspending all domestic tournaments until further notice.
BCCI had issued a statement saying, all matches of the Paytm Irani Cup, Senior Women One-Day Knockout, Vizzy Trophy, Senior Women One-Day Challenger, Women’s Under 19 T20 League, Women Under 19 One-Day knockout, Women Under 23 knockout, Super League and knockout, Women Under 19 T20 Challenger Trophy, Women’s Under 23 One-Day Challenger have been put on hold till further notice due to the Novel Coronavirus outbreak.
The announcement which was made earlier for the three-match ODI series between India and South Africa will be played behind closed doors, the series has now been postponed. These were the remaining fixtures that were to play at Lucknow on the 15th of March and at Kolkata on 18th March.

The death toll due to the deadly Covid-19 has reached 3 in India, while the number of people affected is 137. A 64- year old patient died in Mumbai on 17th March 2020. The government has closed all the schools, colleges, malls, theaters, swimming pools, theatres to prevent people from the coronavirus pandemic.
Passengers coming from the International flights are to be quarantined. The arrangements are made by the government.
Indian Government has also recently activated a toll-free 24x7 national helpline number, 1075, for addressing queries related to the infection on the 16th of March.
While the number of cases has hit 183,143, with 7,175 reported deaths across 157 countries, globally.
