Davis Cup In Exile And Food Allergy: Laaksonen Looks At Djokovic In Shock

Once ejected from the Davis Cup and seeing his professional career in the crisis for a mysterious food allergy, Henri Laaksonen finally has his moment in the limelight of the Grand Slam on Thursday when he finds a Novak Djokovic at Roland Garros.
Think of Swiss men's tennis and the thought process is dominated by the Grand Slam title winner, Roger Federer and Stan Wawrinka, who has three major titles to his name.
Not many have accepted in Laaksonen, 27, the number 104 of the world born in Finland who entered the main draw of the French Open as a lucky loser when Sam Querrey of the United States withdrew.
Take advantage of his unexpected blow of fortune by registering his first win in the tournament by firing the Spaniard Pedro Martinez.
Next, a battle with world number one Djokovic on Thursday for a place in the third round.
However, fortune and favor have not always been written in Laaksonen.
In 2013, he was expelled from the Swiss Davis Cup team for "bad behavior".
I started to develop pain in my ligaments and joints after eating seafood and I often limit myself to bed.
I have only one party in a six-month period last year before deciding your favorite food was at the root of your problems.
"What I ate (fish) and the next day we had a fever (38 degrees) and all the tendons, ligaments ... I had pain," Laaksonen told ATPTour.com this week.
However, when the fish is lost, I was able to practice and play.
In January, a rejuvenated Laaksonen won his first game in a specialty when he reached the standings to reach the second round at the Australian Open.
On Thursday, Djokovic, who is competing to hold the four Slam at the same time for the second time.
"I do not know too much about him, to be honest," said Djokovic, the 2016 champion.
"I never played against him, and I saw him play once or twice, I'm going to have my homework and see what happens."
