De Kock Injury Leads South Africa to a Great Loss

Quinton de Kock, South African wicketkeeper has been ruled out of the rest of the ODI series and the T20s against India as he is suffering from a left wrist injury during the second ODI in Centurion. He would be requiring 2-4 weeks of rest and participate in the test series against Australia which will begin on 1st March 2018. Even AB de Villiers is injured though he will be back in the 4th ODI at Wanderers on 10th Feberuary. Heinrich Klaasen is the only wicketkeeper in the ODI team of South Africa. The mai-n problem is that the selectors are not able to find out the replacement in the squad. Team manager, Mohammed Moosajee said that Quinton suffered an extreme blow in the left wrist -batting in the second ODI on 4th February and felt severe pain and discomfort. After the investigation revealed severe bony bruising the area got swelled around the wrist.
De Kock’s injury is a big loss for South Africa as they don’t have an opening batsman and the first choice keeper. He has not crossed 50 once in eight innings across all formats.
India leads the six match series 2-0 after routing South Africa by nine wickets in the second ODI at SuperSport Park, South Africa.
