Despite Winning, The Twist Of Fate Of Del Potro Forced Him Out Of Queen's

Juan Martín del Potro has had another setback in his attempt to recover all his strength. The Argentine tree, third seed, withdrew from the Tree Fever Championship with a right knee injury.
He slipped close to the net in the eighth game of the second game of his match with Denis Shapovalov. Although the Argentine remained in the first round, a medical examination was carried out.
"It's a great pity that Juan Martin has been seen as forced to retire," said tournament director Stephen Farrow. "The crowd loves him here, as they do all over the world, we wish him a full and quick recovery, and we hope to see him again here."
His second-round opponent, Feliciano Lopez, received a pass to the quarterfinals. In the same way he retired the box of doubles with his companion, Horacio Zeballos. They will be replaced by Robert Lindstedt and Artem Sitak.
Del Potro has been limited to five tournaments since he fractured his right kneecap last October at the Rolex Shanghai Masters. He returned in February at the Delray Beach Open on VITACOST.com but reaffirmed the injury and was out for another three months. The Argentine still intends to compete next month at Wimbledon.
He was too consistent for Shapovalov on a cloudy Wednesday, as the tournament was updated after Tuesday's wash.
Observed by a crowd of 9,216 members of the Central Court, the third favorite, Del Potro, had a potentially difficult encounter in the first round: 7-5, 6-4 in 76 minutes at The Queen's Club.
An interruption of the service in each set, with 5-5 in the first and 2-2 in the second, was enough for Del Potro, who fell several times on the exuberant grass. Del Potro landed 11 aces at his third FedEx ATP Head2Head meeting.
Shapovalov, who is currently in third place in the ATP Race to Milan for a place in the Next Gen ATP Finals in November, had a 13-7 start in the first three months of 2019, but the Canadian southpaw is now 2-8 from March.
The sixth favorite and the 2016 runner-up, Milos Raonic, showed 24 aces to defeat the Italian Marco Cecchinato by 6-3, 6-2. While waiting for the Canadian in the second round is the Slovenian qualifier Aljaz Bedene, who recovered from a set to defeat #NextGenATP Aussie Alex de Minaur 3-6, 6-4, 6-4.
The Frenchman Lucas Pouille ran through the last five games of his first-round win over #NextGenATP The British Jay Clarke 7-6 (4), 6-1. He will face the Russian. Pouille and his FedEx ATP Head2Head 4-0, including a victory last week at the MercedesCup.
The rain prevented you from starting two first round matches of people. The eighth seed Felix Auger-Aliassime and Grigor Dimitrov will play on Thursday, as will Nick Kyrgios and Roberto Carballes Baena.
The full day game was eliminated on Tuesday for the first time since the opening of the 2012 championship.
