Do you know Behavioural Psychology!
Editorials News | Dec-21-2019
Behavioural psychology is the study of the coordination between our minds and our behaviour. Sometimes behavioural psychology is referred as behaviourism. The researchers studying behavioural psychology are trying to understand why we behave in several and they are concerned with discovering patterns in our doings and behaviours. The hope is that if we can use behavioural psychology to help us predict how humans will behave, we can build better habits as individuals, create better products as companies, and develop better living spaces as communities.
Behavioural psychology is the study of human behaviour. The researchers who believed in behaviourism observed and measured human behaviour in various settings and circumstances. The results that they found to be true have shaped our society. Behavioural psychology does not take into consideration subjective influences such as mood, feelings, or cognition. Instead, it focuses solely on environmental influences and conditioning.
Several famous behaviourists founded the study of behavioural psychology. The first mention of behaviourism that brought the study to light was a publication called "Psychology as the Behaviourist View It" which was published by John B. Watson in 1913. Additional famous behaviourists included B. F. Skinner, who developed the theory of operant conditioning. Other notable behaviourists included Edwin Ray Guthrie, Edward C. Toll-man, Clark L. Hull, and Kenneth Spence.
The theory of behavioural psychology is that one's environment directly shapes their behaviour. By studying an individual's environment and controlling it, behaviour can be successfully measured and modified. As John B. Watson stated in his 1913 paper, behaviourists believe that if you take 20 infants and raise them in a specified environment, you could turn them into adults with the behaviours of your choosing.
