Dream Come True: After India’s Success In Lunar Mission
Editorials News | Aug-01-2019
India has successfully launched its Chandrayaan-2 mission which was a lunar mission. There are some who have actually bought a plot on moon. Amongst those one is Rajeev V. Bagdi, a citizen from city Hyderabad, he is an Indian, who bought a five-acre plot on the moon 16 years back. Rajeev feels his decision of buying a plot was not a wrong one as India launching its lunar mission has now given him a hope of actually landing on the moon in his lifetime.
Rajeev V. Bagdi purchased the plot of land on moon for $140 from New York-based Lunar Society International in 2003 that was sixteen years back and has shared his gratitude to India’s second Lunar mission. He also said that India's second lunar mission in 11 years was for the goodness of the entire mankind. On conversation with Rajeev, we can easily judge his excitement and happiness, Rajeev told all this to IANS. It was a Monday afternoon when India launched its second lunar mission on 14 July, 2019. The mission was on track as its 'Bahubali' GSLV rocket successfully put the moon spacecraft -- Chandrayaan-2 -- into the orbit in a copy book style. Bagdi is now looking forward and is helpful that moon tourism will hopefully start by 2030. Bagdi who owns an Ayurveda store said, “When I purchased the plot, I thought at least my coming generation will benefit from it, but now I am hopeful that I will be able to go to the moon with my family,". Bagdi also told that he was so fascinated and inquisitive about the moon since his childhood that when he got the chance of buying a plot he couldn’t resist himself. He came across this while reading an article on moon land selling, and after complete study and research he bought the plot.
Bagdi also told the deed enables him to claim on moon from that society and if the explorations done by them become successful, and if they succeed in making human tourism on moon a reality and take control of this land parcel.
Bagdi pointed out the fact that going to the US was a very big thing to be thought of decades ago. "Today, a member of almost every Indian family is in the US. The same thing may also happen with moon 20 years down the line," he added in his speech.
