
FIBA International Events to Be Organized in India

The International Basketball Federation (FIBA) is going to conduct its two events in India. Basketball Federation of India (BFI) is going to host these FIBA events. The events are FIBA Women’s Asia Cup 2017 and the FIBA U-16 Women Asian Championship 2017.
The first one will be held from 23rd to 29th July 2017 in Bengaluru, Karnataka. The latter will be held from 22nd to 28th October in Hyderabad, Telangana. There will be 14 teams participating in both events. The teams are divided in two divisions i.e. 8 teams in Division A and 6 teams in Division B.
This will be for the first time after 2009 that FIBA Asia Championship is going to be held in India. Shri K. Govindaraj who is the BFI President has also announced National League for Men. It is going to happen later this year.
