Gautam Gambhir Wish Sanju Samson After Selection In India Squad
Editorials News | Oct-31-2019
Gautam Gambhir, the former Indian cricketer expressed his satisfaction over the selection of Sanju Samson for the upcoming three-match T20I series against Bangladesh and asked the wicketkeeper-batsman to grab the "long hung up" contingency with both hands.
Gambhir tweeted on Thursday that - "This is well and truly through the gap by Sanju Samson!!! Congratulations on being picked in the T20I squad. Soft hands, deft feet and hopefully a levelheaded head...go Sanju grab your moment, long delinquent,"
Gambhir has been, for long, countenance for the excerpt of Sanju Samson into the national squad.
Samson's name has been highlighted in the crowd in recent times and with the World T20 up next year, the team management, as well as the selectors, are looking to keep options open as Rishabh Pant is yet to cement his place in the team in the limited-overs format.
Samson's 212-run was so alarming against Goa helped him to break multiple records in a row. He blot out Pakistan’s Abid Ali’s 209* to score the highest-ever List A score by a wicketkeeper in a match. Samson also registered the third-highest List a score in India and fourth by an Indian.
In 2015 Samson has played one T20I against Zimbabwe. It was hardly as a backup when the seniors invigorated, and he lost his place as soon as the habitué came back. He sweats to get it back thanks to his deviation, even though every big knock was followed by calls for his incorporation and support for style.
On November 3, the three-match series between India and Bangladesh begins and will be followed by a two-Test series which starts on November 14.
