HimaDas' Historic Gold Medal Has Made India Shine

Congratulatory wishes are pouring in for India and for the star of the moment Hima Das after she won the gold medal in a 400m race with a total time of just 51.46 seconds. At just 18 years old, she is the first from the country to secure a gold medal in the track event of world championships.
She has definitely created history and left her mark on the world of sports forever. The win was achieved at the ongoing IAAF World Under-20 Athletics Championship in Tampere, Finland. The star girl hails from Assam. She finished sixth in line during Commonwealth Games in Gold Coast in April while competing in a 400m final. She clocked an Indian U20 record after finishing the race in 51.32 seconds. Prime Minister of India, NarendraModi congratulated Hima Das on Twitter tweeting 'India is delighted and proud of athlete Hima Das, who won a historic gold in the 400m of World U20 championships. Congratulations to her! This accomplishment will certainly inspire young athletes in the coming year'. Apart from a congratulatory wish from such a prestigious personality, she also received wishes from RajyavardhanRathore - Minister of State Youth Affairs & Sports, Ram NathKovind - President of India, Rahul Gandhi, Sachin Tendulkar, Amitabh Bachan, PT Usha and VirendraSehwag.
