Indian Star batsman also nick named as Hit Man, Rohit Sharma after the recent victory has expressed his views and feels that skipper Virat Kohli and Indian cricket team coach Ravi Shastri's belief in his abilities and talent has helped him a lot in owning the opening position in Tests, he also credited them for his perseverance for the magnificent run till date.

Rohit has scored 529 runs in his "debut series" which he played as an opener with a double hundred score in his final Test played against South Africa apart from which he scored twin hundreds (176 and 127) in his match at Visakhapatnam. His amazing performance at this match made him earned the man of the series award.
"The support from the coach and captain helps. I am very thankful for the opportunity that the management gave for that opening slot," Rohit Sharma said at the time of post-match presentation ceremony.

There was also a speculation which was that all was not well between Rohit and Kohli, some months back.
The 'Hit Man' of Indian cricket said that he is very happy and it's something that started in the year 2013 when he started opening in white-ball cricket. He realised one needs some discipline at the start of the innings and it's a template to his batting that allows him some success to his batting skills.
Rohit Sharma with his excellent performances and continuous fervour has won everyone hearts and all the more his game is getting more and better, the nick name given to the cricketer is apt.
