ICSE Schools Will Likely Follow NCERT Books By 2019

A few of CBSE schools and state board schools are following NCERT books for their curriculum. Now, even Indian Certificate of Secondary Education (ICSE) will likely make the change to after new session in 2019. National Child Rights Protection Commission has summoned the head of ICSE board to present a report on not following NCERT books. Both ICSE and NCRPC were not following NCERT curriculum. But just recently (around a month back). NCRPC decided to follow NCERT in each and every one of their schools. But there has been no such response to the commission from ICSE Board.

There have been several complaints to the commission that ICSE schools are promoting private publication which has been causing monetary burden on parents. There are a total of 2120 schools in India that have been affiliated to ICSE board. Now, there is a chance that ICSE schools will have to follow NCERT curriculum from 2019.

There has also been a notification that the syllabus of NCERT will be reduced by 50% from session 2019. There have been no official announcements for the same but NCERT has invited suggestions for the decision. Once they reduce the syllabus by 50%, the education board is also planning to the make the sports period compulsory for the student in each of their schools.

Although these all seem like speculation because nothing would be officially announced by before the new session of 2019 starts.
