Here is a list of important schemes launched by Prime Minister Narendra Modi:
1. Pradhan Mantri Jan Dhan Yojana (PMJDY):
Launched in August 2014, this financial inclusion program aims to provide banking services to the unbanked population by opening bank accounts for every household. It also provides access to insurance and pension schemes.
2. Make In India:
Launched in September 2014, this initiative aims to promote manufacturing and boost the country's economy by encouraging both domestic and foreign investment in various sectors. It focuses on job creation, skill development, and improving the business environment.
3. Swachh Bharat Abhiyan (Clean India Mission):
Launched in October 2014, this campaign aims to achieve universal sanitation and eliminate open defecation in India. It focuses on building toilets, improving sanitation infrastructure, and promoting behavioral changes towards cleanliness and hygiene.
4. Pradhan Mantri Mudra Yojana (PMMY):
Launched in April 2015, this scheme provides access to credit for small and micro enterprises. It offers loans of up to Rs. 10 lahks to non-corporate, non-farm small/micro enterprises.
5. Atal Pension Yojana (APY):
Launched in May 2015, this scheme aims to provide a defined pension to citizens in the unorganized sector. It encourages individuals to contribute towards their pension during their working years to ensure financial security in old age.
6. Pradhan Mantri Fasal Bima Yojana (PMFBY):
Launched in January 2016, this scheme provides crop insurance to farmers against losses due to natural calamities, pests, and diseases. It aims to stabilize the income of farmers and ensure their financial security.
7. Pradhan Mantri Ujjwala Yojana (PMUY):
Launched in May 2016, this scheme aims to provide clean cooking fuel (LPG) to poor households. It provides free LPG connections to women belonging to economically weaker sections to reduce indoor air pollution and promote health.
8. Pradhan Mantri Awas Yojana (PMAY):
Launched in June 2015, this scheme aims to provide affordable housing to all by 2022. It has both rural and urban components and provides financial assistance to eligible beneficiaries for the construction, purchase, or renovation of houses.
9. Digital India:
Launched in July 2015, this initiative aims to transform India into a digitally empowered society and knowledge economy. It focuses on expanding digital infrastructure, promoting digital literacy, and delivering government services digitally.
10. Ayushman Bharat Pradhan Mantri Jan Arogya Yojana (AB-PMJAY):
Launched in September 2018, this scheme is a health insurance program that aims to provide financial protection to vulnerable families for secondary and tertiary healthcare. It covers over 50 crore beneficiaries, primarily targeting the economically deprived sections of society.
