India and Bangladesh Jointly Inaugurate 3 Development Projects

Top state leader Narendra Modi and his Bangladeshi partner Sheik Hasina will Wednesday mutually introduce three improvement projects in Bangladesh with Indian help to support network and energy security in the district.

The activities to be initiated around 11 a.m. during a virtual function on November 1 are:

The Akhaura-Agartala cross-line rail connection, the Khulna-Mongla port rail line, and unit II of the Maitree very nuclear energy station, an authority proclamation said.

The Akhaura-Agartala cross-line rail interface project has been executed with an Indian award of ₹392.52 crore stretched out to Bangladesh. The length of the rail connection is 12.24 km, including a double-check rail line of 6.78 km in Bangladesh and 5.46 km in the northeastern territory of Tripura.

The Khulna-Mongla port rail line project, with a complete expense of $388.92 million, has been worked with a concessional credit extension reached out by the Public authority of India. The task incorporates the development of almost 65 km of expansive measure rail course between Mongla Port and the current rail network in the Khulna locale of Bangladesh. With this, Mongla, the second biggest port in Bangladesh, has been associated with the country's expansive measure rail route organization.

It is essential to take note that the Bangladesh government has as of late permitted the travel and trans-shipment of freight from West Bengal toward the northeastern states using Chattogram and Mongla ports.

The Maitree Very nuclear energy project, being worked under an Indian concessional funding plan credit of $1.6 billion, is a 1,320 MW plant situated at Rampal in the Khulna division of Bangladesh. The task has been carried out by the Bangladesh-India Kinship Power Organization Private Restricted, which is a 50-50 joint endeavor between India's NTPCL and the Bangladesh Power Improvement Board.

Unit- I of the power plant was mutually uncovered by both state leaders in September 2022 and Unit - II will be initiated today. The full operationalization of the Maitree Super Thermal Power Plant will improve energy security in Bangladesh.
