India Hosts the Men's Junior Hockey World Cup

India is hosting the Men’s junior World Cup in hockey for the second time. It will be the 11th FIH Junior World Cup where the Indian team will play for the winner’s position. Earlier in 2001 team India had been crowned with the winner’s trophy. Additionally the junior world championship was played in Hobart, Australia in 2001.

The last Junior Hockey team had contained quality players such as Gagan Ajit Singh, Deepak Thakur, Yugraj Singh, Prabhjot Singh, all of whom went onto represent the senior national team with division. Team India has already been praised by the German coach Valentin Altenburg. The coach is also declaring India to be the best contender for the position.

As per the reports this competition is going to be hosted for the second time in India. The last edition in 2013 was hosted in New Delhi. Last in 2013 team Germany received their sixth title beating France 5-2 in the final.
