
India Team Of Doubles Is Out Of The Australian Open

The Veteran player, Leander Paes comes out to be the only Indian player who is still standing in Australian Open by winning his first round in the mixed doubles match at the first stage. While last year Rohan Bopanna was the finalist, whereas this time he is bowed out soon after the first round, thus ended up his journey in the Australian open in Melbourne on a very unsatisfied note. While he was partnering with the Australian Sam Stosur, the wildcard entry has been beat up by Květa Peschke and Wesley Koolhof with a margin of 6-4, 7-5 in an hour and 15 minutes.
The combined age of both the players came out to be 79, the pair featuring Indo-Australian were quick off the mark to get the easy win. While Rohan Bopanna, who at the first stage paired up Australian Zhaoxuan Yang, but they went down at 6-3, 3-6, 6-10 to fifth seeds and defeated by Anna-Lena Groenefeld and Robert Farah. The Indian player reached the final last year at the Australian open in the category of the mixed doubles with Timea Babos and lost by 6-2, 4-6, 9-11 to Gabriela Dabrowski and Mate Pavic. In the next round Stosur and Paes will compete in the fifth seeds against Anna-Lena Gronefeld and Robert Farah. India journey in the category of men’s doubles soon ended up in the first round only when Bopanna and Divij Sharan, came at 15th spot after losing the match to Pablo Carreno Busta of Spain and Guillermo Garcia Lopez. While Leander Paes along with his Mexican partner Miguel Angel Reyes Varela had then knocked out by Austin Krajicek and Artem Sitak. While Nicholas Monroe and his partner Jeevan Nedunchezhiyan wre knocked out Nikola Mektic and Kevin Krawietz with a margin of 6-4 6-7(8) 5-7. On the other hand Prajnesh Gunneswaran was also out after the first round. This time it looked a bad journey for the Indian players as such renowned players are knocked out at the early stage which left sadness in followers and tennis fans. The talent of these players is very renowned and displayed all over the world, so this kind of performance from them is unexpectable and highly dissatisfying.
