India Tour Will not Affect the Ashes Series, as per Mark Waugh
Editorials News | Oct-18-2017
Mark Waugh has expressed his feelings on the length of the limited-over’s Qantas Tour of India, however; he is very much confident that it will have no adverse effects on preparations for the forthcoming Ashes series. The Ashes series is a Test cricket series that is played between England and Australia. The Ashes are regarded as being held by the team that recently won the Test series. Australia has been competing with Indian cricket team in one-day internationals since September 2017, with the Twenty20 series. David Warner who is at present performing the responsibility of Captainship of the T20 cricket said that it had been continuous back to back tournaments after the two-Test series in Bangladesh in September, with just a short break before the JLT Sheffield Shield series. JLT Sheffield Shield series is going to begin on October 26, 2017. He stated that it would have been better if it was a week or two shorter as they needed a break. The present tour reflects the Australia team's preparations for the 2013-2014 Ashes series, when the side played one T20 and a seven-match ODI series in India that is finished only19 days before the first Ashes Test. The early departures of Captain Steve Smith and fast bowler Pat Cummins were considered as a blessing for Waugh.
