Indian Hockey Team Is Efficient Enough To Beat Top Sides, Says Manpreet Singh

Manpreet Singh, ace-midfielder of the Indian Hockey Team is positive enough about the team capable of beating top sides in the world and win a medal, if not gold in the upcoming Commonwealth Games of 2018. He said that the Hockey competition at the Commonwealth is of very high standard and our team would have to give their best to win a medal. Manpreet also affirmed that Indian team has improved a lot since winning a silver medal at the Glasgow edition where they lost to Australia. At CWG, the competition will be tough with some of the great teams like that of Pakistan, South Africa, Great Britain etc. participating.
Australia was introduced in 1998 edition in Kuala Lumpur and have won all the gold medals since then. Manpreet was one of the two players who was called to stands for March 3-10 Sultan Azlan Shah tournament in view of the upcoming April 4-15 CWG in the Gold Coast, Australia. He said that even though he would love to play in all the matches and tournaments just like any other player, the decision lies with the coach. 2018 is an important year for Indian Hockey and a good performance in the Commonwealth games would certainly boost the confidence of the team for going ahead. Rupinder Pal Singh who is a defender also agreed that the Indian team has quite a high chance to win a gold this time.
