Interesting Facts Of Blue Dragon Or Glaucus

Glaucus atlanticus is a species of sea slam that goes by many names, like blue angel blue glaucus, blue dragon, blue sea slug, blue ocean slug and, in a strange twist of a name that doesnt reflect its ultramarine dyestuff, the sea gulp.

1. That appellation tincture is for more than it just show. The sea slug uses the stain to its advantage as it drift on the surface of ocean. The blue side of their body faces up to obscure it against the blue of the sea, while the silver side faces down to cloak it against the bright surface of the water.

Carnivores looking down at it or up at it will have a tough time seeing the little slam thanks to those beautiful sortie of color.

2. This species of sea slug is not unprotected as it move gently If the pretty colors dont hide it well enough from conceivable carnivores , the sea slugs electrify is its next line of fortress.

The slug is not spiteful all on its own. Rather it stores the poignant nematocysts created by the creatures on which it feeds, including rancorous phosphoresce and Portuguese man o wars. These cells are reserved and evaporated, so when its touched, the blue dragon can clemency these mordant cells to pack an even more powerful stroke than the man o war hydrozoan.

3. All blue dragons are hermaphrodites, meaning they have both male and female procreative organs. When two blue dragons mate, they both produce egg strands.

These beautiful but dangerous sea slugs can be organized through the whole of oceans around the world, from levelheaded to tropical waters. So if you come across one, its best to praise it's beautiful blue colors from break away from the pack.
