There are some most amazing facts about Nigeria:
1. Africa’s most populated country
Around 200 million people live here, which makes Nigeria one of the most crowded country in the world. According to the survey of 2019, it ranked 7th most populated country in the world. The superiority of the people is either Muslims or Christians with 50% and 40% of the total population.
2. Over 500 domestic languages are spoken in this country
Nigeria does not only have many people living within its borders, but it’s also multicultural. In fact, it is also one of the most varied country in the world on the basis of primitive languages spoken on a regular basis.
In total, experts projection it is found that more than 500 different languages are spoken. Some of the major languages are Hausa, Igbo, Yoruba, even though English serves as the official language.
3. Nigeria’s favorite addiction – social media
As one of the most streamlined African countries, perchance this is not one of the most remarkable fact about Nigeria, in spite of that, it is interesting. About 75% of the total population uses social media on a regular basis.
4. There are more than 250 Ethnic Groups
As you already know, there are many different languages spoken here, which totally makes sense when you realize that there are over 250 ethnic groups from distinct culture and traditions.
5. Oil exportation is higher in Nigeria
Nigeria is a large scale producer of Crude oil with an average of 2.5 million barrels a day. They have an extensive reservoir of petroleum, and it plays a vital role in the Nigerian economy.
6. The movie industry is known as Nollywood
Nigerian Movie Industry has a nick name Nollywood, and it’s even bigger than Hollywood. It is guessed to be second in the world, only to Bollywood in India.
About 200 movies are produced every week, which means that Nollywood produces more than 10,000 movies per year!
