ISRO Has Launched RISAT-2

ISRO has launched RISAT-2 which is its spy satellite. RISAT2 also called as Radar Imaging Satellite 2 was earlier an Indian radar reconnaissance satellite which was a part of our county, India's RISAT programme. It was previously built by Indian Space Research Organisation (ISRO) and was successfully launched aboard a PSLV-CA rocket which was at 01:15 GMT on April 20 in year 2009 from the Second Launch Pad at Satish Dhawan Space Centre.
RISAT-2's main sensor was supposed to be an X-band synthetic aperture radar coming from Israel Aerospace Industries (IAI). It is also designed for monitoring India's borders and as the part of anti-infiltration and along with those anti-terrorist operations. The satellite consists of a mass of 300 kilograms.
RISAT-2 was built using an accelerated pace that follows the 2008 Mumbai attacks, because of Indian army but due to the delay related to indigenously develop C band for RISAT-1. It is known as India's first dedicated reconnaissance satellite.
X-band SAR was then used by RISAT-2 and was obtained from Israel in return for the launch services of TecSAR satellite. The SAR sensor enabled RISAT-2 for returning images at any time of day and also in all conditions of weather.
RISAT-2 was also used in searching for and eventually locate wreckage from the helicopter crash that had claimed the life of Y. S. Rajasekhara Reddy who was Chief Minister of the State of Andhra Pradesh at that time.
