It Seems That The NBA Has Given Up: Jeremy Lin

TAIPEI • Jeremy Lin's summer began with a National Basketball Association (NBA) championship ring as a member of the Toronto Raptors, but things have gone downhill from there.
Now a free agent and possibly desperate for another chance to play in the league, the veteran shipowner spoke emotionally during the weekend of "bottoming".
Appearing on Good TV, a Taiwanese station specializing in Christian programming, he addressed an audience about the importance of never giving up.
To make his point, he summed up a path through the NBA that did not develop as he had planned and has left him hoping to catch himself somewhere and prove himself again.
"Man, it's hard, life is hard," said Lin, 30, wiping tears from his eyes, "because I've always wanted to do things the right way and I've given God more of me." Every year, and every year, it becomes more difficult.
"In English, there is a saying, and it says that once you hit bottom, the only way is up.
"But rock bottom seems to keep getting more and more rock bottom for me. Therefore, free agency has been difficult. Because I feel that somehow, the NBA has abandoned me."
Born in California to Taiwanese immigrants, Lin became the first Asian-American to win an NBA title.
Get in a brave face
As I knew for six weeks, I would have to smile. I would have to talk about a future that I don't know if I want to have. Honestly, it is embarrassing and difficult.
JEREMY LIN, during his travels in Asia, spilling his problems on Good TV, a Taiwanese station specialized in Christian programming.
However, after the Atlanta Falcons resigned in February and signed with the NBA champions, Raptors, he averaged only 3.4 minutes for Toronto in the play-offs, and played just one minute during a six-final victory. games about the Golden State Warriors.
His surprising triumph was followed by a series of highly successful firms and trades when free agency began, but Lin has had no winners.
Almost a month after the market opened, he told his audience that "he always knew that if he gave someone a reason to doubt, they would."
Lin, who was not recruited from Harvard University, has had many doubts to overcome.
In 2012, during his second season, he exploded into national consciousness while he was with the New York Knicks, turning a stellar game into "Linsanity," a dizzying period when he was the most talked about player in the league after leading. the team fighting for a streak of seven consecutive wins.
However, it was too short, and Lin revealed that "many difficult things happened" when he moved to the Houston Rockets and Los Angeles Lakers.
However, things seemed to be improving in 2016, when Lin joined the Brooklyn Nets, who gave him "the opportunity to be the player I thought he could be." But beset by wounds, he was changed "out of nowhere" last year to the Hawks. That was a problem for Lin, a veteran in a young and rebuilding team.
I hoped Toronto was the opportunity I'd been waiting for since "Linsanity." But a drop-in shooting at the end of the season led to limited minutes in the postseason and although "we won a championship," it was a hollow sensation, since "I didn't feel I really won it."
He added: "I thought to myself: 'You know what, all right, I will take this blow and climb again.'
"Then the free agency appeared, and this was the straw that broke the glass. After the season, I had to prepare for this trip to Asia, and it was the last thing I wanted to do."
"As I knew for six weeks, I would have to smile. I would have to talk about a future that I don't know if I want to have. Honestly, it's embarrassing and difficult."
If the NBA no longer has room for Lin, basketball fans could see him spend next season in Russia.
A recent report by Sportando quoted a source as saying that he is the "main objective" of CSKA Moscow to be his new base.
