Editorials News | Jun-25-2018
Jaipur is the capital of India’s Rajasthan state. It evokes the royal family that ruled the region and that, in 1727, founded what is presently known as the Old City, or “Pink City”. Jaipur is known as the pink city for its trademark building colour. Jaipur is famous worldwide for its splendid Architecture, Vastu, Astrology, Forts, Monuments, Palaces, Art and Craft, Culture and lastly its unique Food. A number of scripts and poems have been written on the beauty of Jaipur city by domestic tourists and foreign tourists.
A number of documentary movies have also been made on Jaipur in the history. Jaipur was founded on 18th November 1727 by Maharaja Sawai Jai Singh II, a Kachawaha Rajput. He ruled from 1699-1744. Initially his capital was Amber which is now called as Amer. It is situated at a distance of 11 km from Jaipur. Maharaja Sawai Jai Singh II felt the need of shifting his capital city due to safety reasons as it was likely to be attacked by a Mughal King Bahadur Shah after the death of Aurangzeb. Another reason for the shift was the ever-increasing population and growing scarcity of water. Jaipur experiences a hot semi-arid climate. It receives over 625 millimetres (25 in) of rainfall during an average year. Jaipur is a major tourist destination in India which forms a part of the Golden Triangle. In the 2008, Jaipur was ranked as the 7th best place that one can visit in Asia. Among the major tourist attractions are the HawaMahal, JalMahal, City Palace, Amer Fort, JantarMantar, Nahargarh Fort, Jaigarh Fort, Birla Mandir, Galtaji, Govind Dev Ji Temple, Garh Ganesh Temple, MotiDungri Ganesh Temple, Sanghiji Jain temple and the Jaipur Zoo. The JantarMantar observatory and Amer Fort are one of the World Heritage Sites. HawaMahal is a five-storey pyramidal shaped monument with 953 windows that rises 15 metres (50 ft) from its high base. Sisodiya Rani Bagh and KanakVrindavan are the notable parks in Jaipur. Raj Mandir is a prominent cinema hall in Jaipur.
