Junior National Champs from Tamil Nadu and Punjab

Girls of Tamil Nadu and boys of Punjab came out as champions in 68th Junior Basketball Championship at Shiv Nadar University. Archana Ramasundaram, DG of the Sashastra Seema Bal (SSB) was the Chief Guest. The winners received Rs 1, 00,000, first runners up got Rs 75,000 and second runners up got Rs 50,000 from Chief Guest.
Mr Chander Mukhi Sharma, Secretary General of the Basketball Federation of India, Dr Mrs Seema Sharma, President, UP Basketball Association (UPBA); Mr Alok Sharma, Additional Director General, Sashastra Seema Bal and patron of the UPBA and Mr Bhupendra Shahi, Hon. Secretary, UPBA were some other dignitaries present there.
In the girls basketball championship, end of first quarter had Uttar Pradesh with a 20 – 16 lead. After a half time break, Tamil Nadu came into rhythm and by the end of third quarter, it lead with 46 – 43. In the boys category, Punjab gave a tough fight to Kerala and won with 100 – 82.
