
Juniors Hockey Team Needs to Prove Themselves

The new Olympic Cycle is giving emphasis on juniors. The Senior Men’s Hockey team is facing transition. They are provided with the responsibility to mentor juniors.
Captain of the Senior Men’s Hockey Team, PR Sreejesh said that juniors as well as seniors will really have to push for a spot in the national team. The juniors will need to get better in their skill and execution. They have to adapt well in the camp and need to prove that they are more worthy of that position. He also added that seniors need to match fitness and speed of the juniors. Also, juniors are going to present in 2020 Tokyo Olympics. Therefore, they should not take training for granted. They have to earn to make it to the squad.
The selection for the final squad will be held in following weeks. The final squad will represent in Sultan Azlan Shah Cup to be held in Ipoh, Malaysia starting April 29.
