Editorials News | Apr-24-2017
Rumors are spreading that the Indian women pro-wrestler Kavita Dalal alias ‘Hard KD’ is to take part in the 32-competitor women’s tournament, World Wrestling Entertainment, to be held in Dubai this month.
It was confirmed at a show conducted at a business partner summit during the WrestleMania Week in Orlando, that the tournament will be a part of “WWE Reimagined”.
The former weightlifter, Kavita, is a student of Dalip Singh Rana alias ‘The Great Khali’, former WWE heavyweight champion. She trains in Continental Wrestling Entertainment (CWE), which is a Jalandhar-based wrestling promotion owned by Khali.
Kavita became popular after the viral spread of her video in which she wrestled wearing a salwar Kameez against a woman wrestler called BB BullBull at CWE.
Kavita has also taken part in numerous national and international tournaments, representing India. It is also notable that she was a constable in Sashastra Seema Bal before transiting to the pro-wrestling field.
Competitors from 17 countries are anticipated to partake in the WWE’s tournament, emphasizing the international diversity and breadth of women’s wrestling. This tournament immediately follows other successful WWE tournaments like last year's Cruiserweight Classic, and January's United Kingdom Championship Tournament.
