Khelo India Youth Games: Result of Football Matches

Khelo India Youth Games has featured various sports. While in the football tournaments the Northeastern states have made their mark in the gold by winning the finals as the neighbor states Manipur Girls and Mizoram Boys in the category of Under-21 football by recording in a dramatic match in an identical penalty shoot victories by 4-3.
While the Mizoram Boys knocked out Kerala team in the penalty shootout and meanwhile Manipur Girls superseded Tamil Nadu in the penalty shoot to claim their gold medals in its respective categories at the Shree Shiv Chhatrapati Sports Complex in Pune, Maharashtra. The Mizoram boys played a good game while making better of their exchanges but could not make it to goals. They displayed a lot of enthusiasm and aggression but were restricted by the Kerala team to convert it to goals and made to wait for appearing in penalty shootouts so as to win the match after the two phases went goalless. But the penalty takers of the Mizoram served the purpose of the game well. At the penalty shoot, Mizoram’s scorers were Lalmuanawma, Lalmawizuala, Lalnunzama and Vanlalnghenga, while Gokul, Fahad Aliyar and Arjun Kaladharan had scored for Kerela. However when we talk about the Girls football final in U-21 category, Sultana, H. Daya Devi, Th. Babysana Devi and W.Rajnibala Devi converted their shots into goals for Manipur to win the final, while Kowsalya Siva Samy, Pavithra and Karthika found the goals for the Tamil Nadu team in the finals. Earlier in the Under-17 category of Boys final, Karnataka while in the match dominated the match while in the game time and the winner had to make it to the penalty shootout so as to make their way across Punjab girls U-17 team by 4-2 soon after the teams finished the match at a tie of 1-1 after the end of the game time. In the match for the third place, the brace of Aman Khanna had enabled Maharashtra football team to beat a high spirited football team of Kerala 2-1 to earn the bronze medal in Under-17. While in the Girls Under-17 final Jharkhand knocked the Odisha team by 2-1 to mark the U-17 Football title for Girls while Manipur beat Kerala by 2-0 to get the bronze.
