Know About the Rugby World Cup

The Rugby World Cup is a total men's rugby union tournament that has contested in every four years that is in between the top international teams. The tournament that was first held in 1987 during the tournament was co-hosted by the New Zealand and Australia.
The winners were awarded by the Webb Ellis Cup and named after William Webb Ellis, the Rugby School pupil who were according to a popular legend has invented rugby by ultimately picking up the ball going on during a football game. Four countries have till now won the trophy; New Zealand and South Africa have won three times, Australia twice, and England has win once. South Africa is one of the current champions by having defeated England in the final of the 2019 tournament in country of Japan.
The tournament is being administered by World Rugby which is the sport's international governing body. Sixteen teams have been invited for participating in the inaugural tournament in 1987, however since the year 1999 twenty teams have till now taken part. Japan has hosted the 2019 Rugby World Cup and France will host the next in 2023.
On 21 August 2019, World Rugby has announced that the gender designations would have been removed from the titles of the men's and also women's World Cups. Accordingly, all the future World Cups for the men and women will further officially bear the "Rugby World Cup" name.
