Learning Centres For Underprivileged Girls Get Support From MG Motor In India

30 learning centers will be adopted by the carmaker for the education of the girl child in remote areas of India. As the MG Motor India brand prepares of launching its first product in the Indian market, the Hector SUV, it has signed up with an NGO, IIMPACT. This NGO aims at providing basic education for young girls from socio-economically disadvantaged backgrounds especially in remote villages across India. As part of their association, MG Motor India will be accepting and supporting 30 of the NGOs learning centers, initiating with remote areas in Haryana, Rajasthan, and Orissa.
Taking into consideration its commitment towards community development and diversity, carmaker MG (Morris Garages) Motor India today signed an MoU (Memorandum of Understanding) with an NGO, IIMPACT. This NGO is engaged in providing quality education to the girl child through its learning centers in remote villages across the country. Under the programme, MG Motor India will adopt and support 30 learning centers which are run by the NGO across India.
IIMPACT, founded by IIM alumnus aims to reach out to the girl children from socially and economically disadvantaged backgrounds. With the help of this programme, MG Motor India plans to impart education with subject-wise classes up to 5th standard for a period of 5 years. The programme will endeavor to offer access to quality education to at least 1,000 girl children in 2019. To begin with, the programme will cover many centers in the remote districts of Haryana, Rajasthan, and Orissa.
Rajeev Chaba, President & Managing Director, MG Motor India, said that as part of their community development initiative and aiming at gender diversity, they wish to give quality education to girl children hailing from socially and economically underprivileged households in remote areas across India. Their association with IIMPACT will support them in attaining that vision and make sure a strong foundation for a better tomorrow. As part of the initiative, they aim to contribute a certain amount from the sale of every MG vehicle to the learning centers which are operated by IIMPACT. This initiative also provides an opportunity to the owners of MG vehicles for contributing and supporting a good social cause.
