Mandeep Singh: An Indian Professional Field Hockey Player

Mandeep Singh (born January 25, 1995) is an Indian professional field hockey player who currently plays as a striker for Ranchi Rhinos in the Indian Hockey League and the Indian national team.
Singh played field hockey as a youth player for the Surjit Hockey Academy, based in his hometown of Jalandhar, Punjab.
On December 16, 2012, the Ranchi Rhinos franchise brought Singh to the first auction of the Indian Hockey League for a winning bid of $ 13,000. He debuted with the rhinos on January 16, 2013 against Punjab Warriors at Surjit Hockey Stadium in the first game of the Ranchi Indian Hockey League in its history and scored the second goal for the team at 50 minutes of the game when the rhinos They ran out of 2-1 winners. He then scored his second goal of the season in the next game against Mumbai Magicians on January 18, 2013 at Astroturf Hockey Stadium in Ranchi, Jharkhand when he scored 22 minutes in the game when Ranchi won the match 3-1. Singh then scored his third goal of the season on January 23, 2013 against Delhi Waveriders at Astroturf Hockey Stadium when he scored 60 minutes in the game; however, his goal was not enough since Ranchi lost the match 4–5. He then scored his first double of his career on January 26, 2013 against Uttar Pradesh Wizards at Dhyan Chand Astroturf Stadium when he scored 58 minutes in the game and 67 minutes in the game, as it led Ranchi to a 3-1 victory. Singh then won his first men's prize of the match on January 28, 2013 after scoring the winning goal for Ranchi Rhinos against the Mumbai Wizards at Astroturf Hockey Stadium when he managed to find the net at 49 minutes of the game to give Ranchi a 2- 1 victory
Singh then began the month of February with a goal on February 2, 2013 against Punjab Warriors at Astroturf Hockey Stadium when he found the net at 34 minutes of play when Ranchi tied the game 1–1. He then scored his final goal of the regular season on February 4, 2013 against the Punjab Warriors at Surjit Hockey Stadium when he scored 62 minutes in the game when Ranchi Rhinos won 3–2.
Singh then played his first game for Ranchi Rhinos in the India League Hockey play-offs on February 9, 2013 against the Uttar Pradesh Wizards at the Astroturf Hockey Stadium in the semifinals in which he helped Ranchi Rhinos reach the final of the India League Hockey with two goals scored 5 minutes in the game and 66 minutes in the game; Ranchi won the match 4–2. Then, in the final, Singh managed to help Ranchi Rhinos win the league title over the Waveriders of Delhi on February 10, 2013 at Astroturf Hockey Stadium.
After the season ended, Singh won the Ponty Chadha Trophy of the Indian Hockey League for the Best Player of the Tournament award after scoring ten goals in thirteen games and being the second top scorer of the tournament.
