Mission Chandrayaan-2: Space Crafts
Editorials News | Sep-23-2019
Chandrayaan 2 will be opening doors to negotiate its mission by some of India's most progressive engineering stunners. Its unified module, which contains automation and software development across the country, includes ISRO's most powerful launch vehicle to date and a thoroughly primitive rover. Some of the amelioration on the spacecraft include:
1. Lander competent of 'Soft Landing' on the lunar surface of the moon
2. Contrivance comprehensively developed by India's scientific community
3. Rover competent of regulating in-situ payload experiments
Orbiter
The weight of orbiter is 2, 379 kg and its electric power generation capability is 1, 000 W. This orbiter is sent to the moon for the mission of chandrayaan – 2.
At the time of launch, the Chandrayaan 2 Orbiter will be competent to communicating with Indian Deep Space Network (IDSN) at Byalalu as well as with the Vikram Lander. The mission life of the Orbiter is one year and it will be placed in a 100X100 km lunar polar orbit.
Lander — Vikram
The weight of Vikram Lander is 1, 471 kg and its electric power generation capability is 650 W, this space craft plays a very vital role in the mission of Chandrayaan-2 or we can say the lead hero of this space mission.
The Lander of Chandrayaan 2 is named Vikram after Dr. Vikram A Sarabhai, the Father of the Indian Space Programme. It is constructed to function for one lunar day, which is tantamount to about 14 Earth days. Vikram has the efficiency to communicate with IDSN at Byalalu near Bangalore, as well as with the Orbiter and Rover. The Lander is designed to assassinate a soft landing on the lunar surface.
Rover — Pragyan
The Rover Pragyan weight is 27 kg and its electric power generation capability is 50 W. This space craft is also going to use for the mission Chandrayaan-2.
Chandrayaan 2's Rover is a 6-wheeled robotic vehicle named as Pragyan, which decipher to 'wisdom' in Sanskrit. It can travel up to 500 m (½-a-km) and suction on solar energy for its functioning. It is only capable to communicate with the Lander.
