Only 3% of Children Are Not Enrolled in The Schools

The Annual Status declared in 2018 an Education Report (ASER) was by a NGO named Pratham was declared on January 15, 2019 and has attracted our eyes on the education status of our country. On the survey of 596 rural districts that were conducted and studied the progress for the survey that was done on 546527 studying children in a total of 354944 rural households. All the children’s were aged from 3 to 16 years.

Although it came with its parts   which diversify share of negatives, the report has now cited a varied growth in the count of students that were enrolled in various schools around the country. The infrastructure and buildings of the schools has also seen some gradual improvements over the time. According to the latest published report, since 2007, the enrollment of the students in the 6 to 14 years age group has been above the rate of 95%. Meanwhile, for the very first time their number has gradually fallen to 3% of the children which are not enrolled in schools yet. As per the data of 2018, this number has reached to at 2.8% mark. In 2008, more than 20% of the girl children’s who aged 15 and 16 years that are considered and the studies were made on have been found as not enrolled in schools. While the last year, this number steadily fell low to 13.5%. However, 10.3% of the girls aged from 11 to 14 years were not enrolled in the schools in the survey of 2006. In 2018, the stats has gone below by a very big margin and presently only about 4.1% are not enrolled in most of the states. Only four states in India have more than 5% of girl children’s in the age group of 11 to 12 that are till now not enrolled in schools. The stats related to sports equipment present in the schools shows that around 55.8% of the primary and 71.5% of upper primary schools bears some types of the sports equipment. The states like Rajasthan, Haryana and Kerala displayed a huge change of schools infrastructure that includes a physical education teacher. The extra-curricular activities in the schools are carried at the great extent to develop the children’s in every aspects. Thus growing the awareness regarding the menstrual hygiene and its facilities in the girls at schools might have reported in the encouraging mentality of the society.
