Editorials News | Sep-20-2019
Indian Football Coach Igor Stimac has recently said that his team is not all tensed in its second World Cup qualifier against Asian champions Qatar, despite they are coming off a 1-2 defeat in the campaign opener at their home.
India had let in two late goals while the 82nd and 90th minute and after taking an early lead which was done against Oman in Guwahati they began their campaign on a losing note.
The team reached there ahead of the match to be fought against Qatar, who had earlier won the Asian Cup in January and now are expected to pose a tougher challenge to their visitors.
Stimac said that as soon as the match at Oman ended they shifted their focus immediately to the upcoming match. Qatar is considered to be the strongest team in the group and playing them would not be easy. He further said that however, this is a great opportunity where they can learn a lot.
He also mentioned that it is obvious, that they have to change 4-5 players and now the time will tell how everyone is feeling.
He also mentioned that they are expecting a tough encounter as Qatar have been the Asian champions, but they are also determined to stick to their plans and to stay compact and to play as a team. And he is sure that if they can do that, they can certainly pull off a favourable and positive result.
"The coach has been always motivating us and said that he was and will be proud of the way we played. Against Qatar, we need to be solid and make the most of our chances," the 24-year-old player said.
Overall the whole news segment explains that how positive approach as a leader plays a pivotal role while playing sports and Indian football is a sport which is setting its pace rapidly.
