PWD 2017: Punjab Wins Over Haryana

Punjab has defeated Haryana with 5-4 in the final of Pro Wrestling League season-2. Haryana who won all the matches till now in the tournament failed to cross the last hurdle.

During the final tournament, Punjab reigned supreme with their foreign imports Vladimir Khinchegashvili, Vasilisa Marzaliuk and Ilias Bekbukatov. 

Without any jamming, the match was played very smoothly with both teams putting their best foot forward. It was an interesting tournament attended by more than 5000 audiences watching the action.

The last fight happened between two contestants Sofia Mattsson of Haryana and Odunayo Folasade Adekuoroye of Punjab. During the evening encounter, the former prevailed by a solitary point to win it 4-3 in women's 53kg. However, that action could give Haryana the trophy.

Luck was not favor Odunayo Adekuoroye as she lost her first bout in the history of the Pro Wrestling League in a keenly-fought match. Rio Olympics bronze medallist Sofia kept her nerves to eke out a narrow win over the strong Nigerian wrestler.
