Rajyavardhan Singh Rathore Stressed on Choosing Right Leadership

History has witnessed that there have been numerous players in India who has made the country proud. But it is also true that so many of them are not even remembered now because they could not get that much of opportunities and support that was required.

Union Minister Rajyavardhan Singh Rathore expressed his concern over this issue and said that Indians have great potential in sports but it is hampered by lack of opportunities. He was speaking on the eve of 69th Republic Day celebration at the Patiala House Courts premises. He gave reference to the sports ministry's initiative 'Khelo India' that was not just about playing, but the real purpose of this project was to help people become better doctors, lawyers and engineers etc. This ambitious programme of the ministry aims to search for talent at the grassroots level and provide it substantial long-term scholarship so that financial hardship could not come in their way. He also said that it is a misconception that sports are only for fun. Sports can make us fit mentally as well as physically and ultimately it helps us in selecting the right career with a healthy mind. At the same time sports can also have immense career opportunities. Government plays a vital role in encouraging people and providing better facilities. Therefore, New Delhi Municipal Council's vice-chairperson Karan Singh Tanwar urged the people to choose the leaders carefully. They stressed on electing right leader so that he/she could lead us towards a better life.
