RBCL Day- 6, INTERVIEW with DBA HEAD – MR. NARESH TANEJA

Q1. How many years will it take for India to participate in Olympics?

Answer: First of all India has been a part of Olympics basketball in 1980’s when all the western countries boycotted the Moscow Olympics and thus India became a part of Olympics from Asia. However, India is aiming to participate in Asian games. It ranks eleventh in Asia in terms of basketball. I don’t think that India will be a part of Olympics as of now but can be if the coming generation works hard for it.

Q2. What are your views about RBCL? How does it contribute to the growth of fan following of basketball?

Answer: India is not growing in basketball due to bad infrastructure. Basketball is an outdoor sports game; not many support all to have a perfect court as per international standards. Yes, RBCL is contributing to the growth of basketball and I think it will lead to check the progress of the game in the country.
