“Revised National TB Control Programme” to Control TB

Tuberculosis (TB) is caused by bacteria called Mycobacterium tuberculosis (M.tuberculosis). It is a communicable disease that directly spread from person to person through the medium of air.

 All government spends much to stop these kinds of diseases. As per a report published by World Health Organization (WHO), almost 2.8 million cases of Tuberculosis are found in India every year. The government has announced to disburse the money to nearly 25 lakh Tuberculosis patients irrespective of their income within the initiative to eliminate the disease by year of 2025 from India. There is a plan to provide Rs. 500 a month to Tuberculosis (TB) patients so that they could buy nutritious food until they are cured of the disease. In this scheme about 25 lakh, patients will be targeted. The proposal has been approved by the Expenditure Finance Committee and sent to the Mission Steering Group. The amount will be given to all 25 Lakh TB patients avoiding their income level. The amount will be disbursed on the basis of their Aadhaar card number and medical documents. The health ministry has targeted to reduce TB incidences by 90% by 2025. Under the Revised National TB Control Programme, a new treatment policy has been made under which patients are given fixed drug combinations- three or four drugs in a single pill daily, instead of giving it to thrice a week. To treat children, the drugs have been made easily-dissolvable and flavored. The Government is looking forward to achieve its mission 2025.
