ROGER FEDERER WANTS TO TEAM-UP WITH RAFAEL NADAL

Roger Federer, who in a five-set Australian Open final bet Rafael Nadal, has confessed “I've always wanted to play with Rafa... just because our rivalry has been so special.

Federer, the Swiss tennis great, wants his arch rival Rafael Nadal as his doubles partner at this year’s Laver Cup. The new tournament which is scheduled in September will witness Bjorn Borg-captained European team opposing John McEnroe’s rest of the world.

"I've seen his wicked forehand go past me too often!" stated Federer.

Laver Cup, the new match of the tennis calendar is named after Rod Laver. He was the last man to accomplish the calendar Grand Slam in the year 1969.

35 year-old Federer stated to the media launch in Prague "Rod Laver wants us to represent our part of the world with pride and play our best and win for our teammates. We will play to our best possibilities."

In the September 22-24 scheduled event, the world number nine- Federer will team with sixth-ranked Nadal.

The Laver Cup will be conducted every year except during Olympic seasons. It will hold four matches every day- one in doubles and three in singles.
