SAFF U15 Championships Won By India

U-15 National Team that comprised of All India Football Federation’s Regional Academy boys was successful at SAFF U – 15 Championships. They won the final against Nepal in Kathmandu on 27th August, 2017. They beat Nepal in the final with 2-1. The winning goals from Lalrokima and Vikram made India to achieve a deserving 2-1 victory.
All India Football President Mr. Praful Patel congratulated the entire U-15 Team for this achievement. He added that the way the boys have played was a clear indication of a how structured Youth Development Programme can raise the standards. The General Secretary of AIFF, Mr Kushal Das said that the AIFF Academy boys won the hearts of everyone with their splendid display. He also added that the programme run by Academy is able to yield good results and he is confident enough to say that this bunch of boys would bring more laurels to the nation.
Nepal earned a penalty against the run of play in the 40th minute. It leads to 1-0 at the interval. The last few minutes witnessed Nepal trying hard to equalize the score but the Indian defense stool tall.
