Savannah Tosses Coin in the Match of Her Idol 'Roger Federer'

It is a big weekend for tennis - especially for resident super fan who has considered Roger Federer her idol - Savannah Guthrie. This weekend, the sport's biggest male stars face off during Laver Cup held in Chicago. Savannah got to toss the coin in one of the biggest matches that features her idol, Roger Federer. The co-anchor at TODAY show was thrilled and excited to get such an honor to do the coin toss for Friday night's doubles played between two of the tennis superstars - Novak Djokovic and Roger Federer. They faced off against Kevin Anderson and Jack Sock. The latter team won the match.

She shared her excitement on social media, by posting a picture of her shaking hands with Djokovic. It comes as no surprise that she was this exhilarated - she has long been a Federer fan, even admitting to Ellen DeGeneres that she sneakily takes photos of the star. This was not the first time that she came up close and personal with her idol. Back in March, she played a doubles match with him to benefit the player's charity.

Guthrie and her partner, Jack Sock played with Federer and his partner, Bill gates. Guthrie was ultimately defeated and described the experience as a mix of emotions - all epic, amazing and embarrassing at the same time.
