Editorials News | May-27-2020
This pandemic and lockdown have caused damages to the school curriculums and their education. Schools have been shut from long now i.e. since March 16. However, the recent news has suggested that the Central Government is planning for reopening schools in the month of July. This will take place on the basis of zones. According to government strategy, it has been planned to reopen the schools in the green and orange districts first. Apart from this the other factor that implies is that only students of class 8th and above will be attending the school and the rest younger group need to wait until the school and its staff can again be in full swing working before their joining.
As per reports it has been noted that keeping younger students at home has a simple concept that these students will not be able to follow strict rules. School reopening will be done, however, a final official notice is yet to come further in this week. Along with these, there will be several measures that will be taken once the schools reopen like only 30% of school students will be first permitted to maintain social distancing. The reports also suggested that the teachers who are the backbone of any school would need to be trained for following and helping others and students follow the guidelines. Also, school assemblies, events are a big NO.
This news has come around 10 days after our HRD Minister Ramesh Pokhriyal hinted about similar measures and also made us aware of the safety guidelines being worked on for both schools and colleges so they can be reopened soon after lockdown.
