The Departure of Indian Women Hockey team for Playing 9th Women Asia Cup

In the mature leadership of Skipper Rani, the Indian Women’s Hockey team departed from the Indira Gandhi International Airport, New Delhi on October 24, 2017, to take part in the 9th Women Asia cup 2017. It is going to be held in Kakamigahara Japan from 28th October 2017. Indian team with all confidence compete with the Singapore team. India is participating in the tournament as the fourth highest ranked Asian team in the world. There will be matches of Indian team against China, Malaysia, and Singapore. The Newly- appointed Chief Coach Harender Singh is looking forward to start his tenure with the women’s team. The tournament becomes more important as the team has to prove their eligibility for the next year’s Women’s Hockey World Cup in London. In September 2017, the team has returned from their Europe tour of Netherlands and Belgium. Since then it has been practicing at the National Camp at Sai Bengaluru. The coach Harender Singh has full confidence in the 18- member hockey team. The Team is working hard on their structure and defence strategies. They are also working on their speed as it has a vital role in the sport. Indian hockey team has great potential to give a tough competition to other teams. At the same time they cannot take any of the team lightly. It is being expected that the Indian Women Hockey team will perform well and make India proud.
