Jhulan is the highest wicket taker in the Women’s ODI cricket. She backed the ICC Women's Player of the Year 2007 award and the M.A. Chidambaram trophy for Best Women Cricketer in 2011. She became the captain of the women’s team on February 1, 2009 to guide the team for the world cup. Presently, she has been succeeded by Mitali Raj.
