Semi-finals of the Rakuten Japan Open Tennis Championships were played on Thursday. Second seeds Bruno Soares and Jamie Murray reached the semi-finals by defeating Marcus Daniell and Marcelo Demoliner 6-3, 6-4 in 67 minutes. After winning the match both Murray and Soares proceeded with 10 points in the Emirates ATP Doubles Race To London of No. 4-ranked Bob Bryan and Mike Bryan (4,355) as teams battled to qualify for the Nitto ATP Finals that is going to be held at The O2 in London from 12th to19th November.
The next match they have to play is with Dominic Inglot and Daniel Nestor in the Tokyo semi-finals. Ben Mclachlan and Yasutaka who are the Japanese wild cards, had a victory of 7-6(2), 7-6(3) victory over top seeds Jean-Julien Rojer and Horia Tecau in one hour and 37 minutes game. Rojer and Tecau have reached to the Tokyo final. The Dutch-Romanian team is 16-4 in finals as a team and recently won the US Open title. Marcin Matkowski and Aisam-Ul-Haq Qureshi were defeated in a knock-out session by 12-10 in a tie-break by Gonzalez and Peralta. The next attempt of Klaasen and Ram are to qualify for the Nitto ATP Finals, as they had reached the title match in 2016 and are currently on the No. 8 position in the Emirates ATP Doubles Race to London.
