The Goals of Real Kashmir Football Club

The fascinating story of the Real Kashmir Football Club (RKFC), the first ever football team from this mountain state which if famous for its violence is ready to compete in the upcoming I-League, which now started with a 1,000 footballs. In 2014, after the floods had devastated various parts of some of the restive region, Sandeep Chattoo, a businessman and Shamim Meraj, famous editor of the newspaper Kashmir Monitor had collected funds from their respective friends to buy around 1,000 footballs to fill the sad faces with joys and enthusiasm in the local kids.

The game then turned out to be so exciting and famous that the duo then decided to plan an establishment of a football club in the city of Srinagar. This Club is located in Srinagar, Jammu and Kashmir, now it is managed by former Rangers and  David Robertson, Aberdeen player . Real Kashmir has become the first ever team from Kashmir to take part in the I-League, the first league of its kind of football in India. The Real football club had now participated in their debut national competition two years ago in September 2016 when they were the part of the 2016 Durand Cup.In July 2017 it became the first club from the territory of J&K to make their way on the foreign soil by playing 4 matches in total in Scotland. Real Kashmir is playing in all the four categories of the AIFF I-League. In May 2018, Real Kashmir football club had earned their promotion to I-League 2018-19 by qualifying and winning I-League 2nd Division in 2017-18 after defeating the famous and competitive Hindustan FC in the finals of the season by a mark of 3-2. While in August 2018 the youth team of Real Kashmir travelled to Germany for their pre-season training camp with one of the best football club around the globe named as Borussia Dortmund. They also visited the training centers where the official teams of BVB or Borussia Dortmund gets trained. They also visited their stadium Westfalenstadion, which is very famous.
