The Neglected Backboard in Basketball is Very Crucial

A backboard is known to be the very crucial piece of basketball equipment. Backboard is a raised vertical board that has a basket attached to it. This equipment is made of a flat, rigid piece of Plexiglas or tempered glass that has the properties of safety glass. The shape is usually rectangular and is used in NBA, NCAA and international basketball.

When it comes to recreational environments, a backboard is found to be in oval or a fan shape. These shapes are usually found in non – professional games. Today, most of the backboards are made up of glass backboard and are excellent in providing non – obstruction to the audience’s view. If we come to non – professional backboards, then the material used in them such as goals at parks or on streets may obstruct the audience’s view.

The hoop of basketball is mounted to a basketball backboard with a flexible connection between the backboard and the hoop.
