The Organisation That Changed A Government School To Fully Digital School

On 26 June 2017, Chinnor village of Gwalior got its first e-content based digital school. The efforts for the digital school was a joint initiative by Muskaan foundation - a youth driven non-profit that works towards educational, financial and emotional support for children that lives in orphanages and slums, and Ministry of Rural Development. This local government school was completely renovated so as to provide education in all the subjects without any books but through e-content based technology. The volunteers of the organisation, with the help of the government, have worked really hard to renovate school and train the teachers.

Apart from learning, digital technology will also help in checking attendance of students through an app and keep a track of lessons taught by teachers on a daily basis. Chief Guest Mr.Narendra Singh Tomar was quite happy with the work and said that this school was the perfect example of digital initiative by the government.

Muskaan was established in 2014 to extend support to children in slums and orphanages. They have 250 plus strong volunteers that have covered more than 300 children across three cities of MP namely Bhopal, Gwalior and Indore. The volunteers ensure that they spend at least 3-5 hours per week interacting, mentoring, teaching and helping students under them.

Muskaan works on many models such as developing life skills, developing infrastructure, vocational training and changing the ecosystem to help the students in overall development.
