The Puneri Palton, Has Roped Former Indian Captain Anup Kumar As Next Head Coach

As the next series starts on, the ex-captain is surely going to change the mat for Puneri Paltans and the way they have played till now. The 35-year old Anup is all set to play a new innings as a coach and turn the tables for Puneri Paltan.

In a candid interview, Anup admits that he has contributed to the core and Kabaddi is his first love. Donning the coach's hat for the very first time, Anup is currently focussing to improve the overall fitness and skills of the team members. In his next innings, the former Indian Kabaddi skipper says that increasing the presence of mind of the payers in the mat is as equal to working on increasing the physical fitness and enhancing the skills sets. In the next edition of the much acclaimed VIVO PKL Season 7, the star captain is sure to start a new life along with the players.

Going back to the era of 2006, when we claimed his gold medal in his debut international match in the South Asian Games, Anup has been a extraordinary player. Under his affluent leadership, the Indian team had bagged gold medals in 2012 and 2014 Asian Games. Also, he was the backbone who steered the team to lead the side at the 2016 World Cup Glory that helped in showcasing India's dominance and strength in the world of Kabaddi. For his consistent performance, invaluable contributions and achievements, he was conferred with the prestigious Arjuna Award in 2012.

Talking about Anup's inclusion as the coach of Puneri Paltan the team CEO Kailash Kandpal asserts that Anup's experience will prove to be immensely helpful for the team as he brings in new tactics and approach. He further adds that since Anup his highly known for his calm and composed nature, he carries vast acumen of the PKL format and therefore the team is expecting a lot from the ex-captain.

The seventh season is scheduled to begin from July 19th, for which the auction is to be held on 8th and 9th April in Mumbai. A total of 12 teams are in the race of becoming the next PKL champions and we all can't just wait to see another exciting season of Vivo PKL season 7.
